Seen some good reviews and i also know darkly is reviewing it. Wondered if you'd post some thoughts here d ? Is it worth trying out?

Feeling a bit overdosed on wow atm (not quitting or anything but just bored !), anyone else thinking of checking this out?

Afternoon. I was trying to get it in for review... still not placed a review yet and doesn't look like I will (bah), so not played it yet...

But yeah, some pretty positive reviews are cropping up. I've surfed a few msg boards scouting about it, and seems like they've built it around some pretty impressive instanced quests with strong storylines type thing. And fairly varied classes (ie healer type gets CC and a heal which procs off his melee strikes so not just sitting back botting - or that's the theory anyway!) which can be customised with traits, to an extent, though a tank is of course still a tank fundamentally.

Tempted to try it out even if I don't get a review, though it might be worth waiting a little while for the first patch to iron stuff out anyway (some hiccups with some stats being borked, and the economy a little unbalanced in places).

Been too busy atm to do much of anything, as you may have noticed, not come back to wow yet! Tbh feeling a little burnt out on the high level game ourselves. Been piddling around with alts a little on Thunderhorn but that's about all :)

ahh right :) i thought you had said you had it for review - my bad :)

The press seem to be giving a far far greater reception than i expected which is what has risen my interest really, i think i may get it and try it out.

And yeh i know hels has been playing her squiddie :) You should feel no pressure about high end stuff if it's no fun :) Though spaceman squidface alliance types is not the way to go ! ;)

I've tried it out, it seems like D&D online in middle-earth. I didn't play much of D&D online, so might be a scewed view ;)

The quests sound like DDO in some ways, but don't think there's much other resemblance, it's closer to WoW than DDO from what I've read. Soon find out anyway :)

Short-arse! ;)

Guardian is a pretty cool class by all accounts. That's what Hel wants to be :)

I can't decide between loremaster (the sort of cc-caster I'd usually play, but apparently a bit borked atm, be fixed up soon enough I would guess) and burglar (summat a bit different).

hels might like champion more i think, they are the dps 'smack everything about a bit' melee types. Guardians are supposed to be more defensive type tanks but not really seen too much yet as I only just rolled ;)

Loremasters are apparently gimped as you say, but hey what do ppl know ? :) It sounds like the kinda class you like (bit of cc/heal/nuke). Captain might be a viable choice also to duo a bit with hels if you both have a copy (as you can heal and buff a bit, but not full on healer, sound a bit like a wow pally to me).

Yeah, the guard is the defensive tank very much, I thought champ originally for Hel but in some ways it sounds like a combat rogue (even has combo points)... and she fancies trying out summat more survivable, bit fed up of being a paper bag ;) Will have to try them both I guess :)

Best duo seems to be guard-minstrel, but cba playing a healer atm, even though it sounds like quite a cool healer class. Then guard-lm, as lm can heal somewhat.

Not sure on the Captain, as you say pretty much pally but with a (small) pet.

i guess get her to try them both, guardian is all about threat and threat management etc. The champ still gets to wear heavy armour (just not the large shields) from what i have read, but then again i am a noobie :) Xanic is playing a burgler and says it plays very much like a wow rogue, so i dont think champ is quite so close but maybe try em both as you say and see.

... or you could make hels heal you for once... isn't it her turn ? ;) *runs away*
