Some good info here on Aldor vs Scryer http://www.wowwiki.com/Comparison_of_Aldor_and_Scryer_rewards

edit: not sure that's totally up to date actually, prolly best to check in game before you make any final choice.

I am still not sure which tbh, seems it depends allot on what spec I'd be at 70, which i'm not sure about either !

Not sure really, I'm assuming when you start to exp in Terokkar forest as I'm guessing that's where the faction mobs are?

For darkly mostly, and maybe cern?:

Maleg had a chat with me and eko last night and pointed out a nice damage/crit quest reward staff we can get later down the line:

http://www.thottbot.com/?i=57703

Compared to the Aldor reputation reward, there's not much in it actually (40 more damage on the aldor staff and more int but absolutely no stam so it's kinda debatable i guess) - aldor staff is here btw - http://www.thottbot.com/?i=55289

On that basis thinking i might go scryers, as you're much more likely to get a quest reward than a drop. There is no healing staff equivalent that i can see, so seems logical as I'm an alchemist also to go scryer :-) The other thing you'd miss out on are the robes, but i think there are better out there later in the game?

Edited out, after looking at Lasiiens comparison tables between scryer and aldor.

I'd say i am gonna go Aldor because they have more tailoring recipes assuming thats an exhaustive list.  There are no enchanting recipes for either though :(  The difference in rep rewards is very small, I don't really think there is much in it for me.

Cern I was thinking that when we start grinding out rep maybe the two of us should decide on different reps, so we'll as a grp have access to a wider range of enchants ... maybe do the same if there are BoP Alch recipes Darkly and Lasiien?

Sax.

Nah the only alch recipe is with the scryers, which is mostly why i went with them.

Please do check in game though that everything you want is there, i read somewhere that someone used the comparison chart and picked the wrong side 'cos they didn't check if it had changed in game :)

I also read some stuff about the Master Enchanter trainer only being with the Scryers and not the Aldor, but in chatting to cern i dont think that was a biggie?

Sax - note also they aren't enchants but inscriptions. Like the Argent Dawn rewards or ZG enchants, you buy them and put them on your character yourself and don't need enchant skill to do so. I'd make your choice based on tailoring mate

There don't seem to be any enchanting recipes at all. The inscriptions (shoulder enchants) seem to be self-apply things that won't need an enchanter.

Actually there's little of interest to my Hunter from either Scryer or Aldor sides. No vendor weapon or armour much worth having and the mail (were I a leatherworker) isn't much cop (nice fire or arcane resists but let's face it stacking just the one resist type doesn't cut it in PvP, it's only useful for raiding instances which have a specific damage type).

Seems to be a bit more on offer for cloth and plate wearers, but really is any of the armour worth what is inevitably going to be a long rep grind? My bet is we'll get better gear from instances (especially once 70 and doing heroic mode).

So unless the aldor/scryer rep comes quick and easy, I really don't think it's worth sinking much time into it beyond getting Honoured for the basic shoulder enchants (the Exalted versions are nice but you can bet getting Exalted will be mind-melting).

Yeah I was assuming there would be other reps to grind, kinda like Sporeggar ( similar to Timbermaw), and others that I have yet to come across.  I keep meaning to go see the Sporeggar vendors in Zangamarsh but haven't gotten around to it yet, and am still about 1300 off neutral.

Maleg said that recipes do drop from mobs and bosses, just that we have yet to see any and I guess any that have dropped for ppl ahve been kept or given to friends who could use them.

Sax.

edit :- Las, I think I did say I was gonna base my choice on tailoring :)
