Hola Cern,

I admit I was torn, i cancelled my pre-order and was determined to stay away for a few months and pick it up on sale but then my impatience got the better of me and i bought it (think it was ?42 from greenmangaming). I had a fairly busy weekend so haven't played it enough to say if reviews are right or not but it doesn't seem terribad (the character animations are sometimes very noticable, sometimes not). Story wise hasn't really got going yet for me but I'd suggest they were up against it anyways having to create a whole bunch of new characters.

I only tried the multiplayer once, but it seemed allot like ME3. In fact, very similar to me - waves after waves of enemies etc. They also say its optional and you can send NPC teams out to do the missions as well, doesn't seem to be as important as the 'war effort' was in ME3, but I'm not sure yet.

In short, if you can wait until it's properly discounted (maybe November for thanksgiving?) then I'd do so. I was too impatient :D

I know eko got it too and he's a bit deeper in than me I suspect, so I'm sure he'll post soon also.

Anyone picked this up yet?

Reviews seem mixed and launch price is a bit steep at ?50, so I think I might wait until they patch a few of the problems and perhaps drop the price a little. However, would be fun to get in on the multiplayer from the start.

haha, can't get rid of that Planetside bug hey Brigh ? Awesome games, both of them. Had countless fun with eKo in PS2 especially, although unless driving around in Harassers flashing neon lights on and off and getting 1 shot by the enemy counts as 'skill' then I guess we weren't very good ;) Listening to our platoon leader have an absolute freak out on a regular basis was also quite fun when you didn't take the game so seriously :) (yes, he was very much like the -50dkp guy!)

I did enjoy it but not to sure on how long I could play it for before becoming very bored.

I'll probably wait a few weeks before looking to purchase it and see what some of the reviews say.

For now I'll carry on with Planetside2 and continue to wait for Mass Effect

Brigh :D

I've done two of those I think and yeah I agree they were thought provoking and not obviously 'good' or 'evil'. But I've always liked that about the Witcher, kinda cool yet depressing world :)

I loved the original Witcher, which was kinda clunky, but really loved it for the story and different kinda game it was to the normal fantasy stuff. Just like I loved Mass Effect 1, awesome worlds and story but clunky game :)

So what do you think of For Honour then Brigh? Beating up all those kids at pvp yet ? :D

There's some really tough decisions in the game and quite often there's no right choice. The ones I've found toughest so far, without giving any spoilers, were the Baron's missing family quest (a series of really tough decisions), Lambert's revenge quest and the business with the ghost of the jilted lover on an island.

And yeah, I'm not trying to clear every question mark on the map, although I also did most of them in Velen and almost all of them in Novigrad. But Skellige ... no way :)

I tried the veteran difficulty last night (since there is an even higher difficulty) and it went from faceroll to wtfpwnd! :o

Went back to story mode for now, guess it's for people have raid gear and want to do the chapters over for command exp/achievements?

Witcher 3 is rather slow to get into not only because the story advances rather slowly, but also because you gain levels really slow at the start. I hope you're not trying to complete all question marks, Cern, as Skellige has an abundance of them. I did most of them in Velen, but gave up in Skellige as needing to go to harbour (to sell) then sailing back out every 4/5 questions marks got boring fast. I tried doing all the side quests though, but still need to finish the game (I'm halfway into Act 3 I think). I love how the choices you're given aren't black & white and how you cannot always figure out the consequences of your actions.

Guss !! :D Awesome character! :)

I've done plenty of hours in it Cern but I think it's quite a long game so I know I'm only part way in (maybe just about Act II as well, I'm not sure). I did the whole of Velen including side quests and some of Novigrad. I keep booting it up from time to time and play a bit more, but still can't get sucked in. Can see it's a good game just dunno why struggle!

How far did you get in Witcher 3 Las? The story unfolds in a rather strange way - there's the initial 'dream' prologue and then even when you think the actual story has begun the first zone turns out to essentially be an extended prologue too. The real meat of the story takes some time to unfold. It nearly lost me too because of that, but now I'm hooked. I'm making relatively slow progress because the completionist in me can't bear to leave too many side quests behind (although I've realised it's crazy to try to do them all and some I've walked away from). So I'm only up to Act 2 (I think).

I enjoyed the KOTFE story too. I think I made it to about Chapter 10, when Kaliyo returns. But what has put me off continuing is the faceroll gameplay. It's just ridiculously dumbed down. I recall solo'ing Heroic Mode Star Fortress just to be pushed a bit (and even then certain classes can faceroll that). I might resub for a month to catch up on the story sometime perhaps.

But smuggler has ... Guss! :) Admittedly the smuggler story isn't so great, though there are some funny situations/lines which made it fun to play through. Since Agent is smuggler's mirror, I migh try Jedi Knight or Sith Warrior first though (while I like the Bounty Hunter gameplay, the story gets boring near the end as well).
