The heavyweight division has always been the figure head of boxing, i don't think its a coincidence that with its decline boxing has become less and less popular in the mainstream of sporting news... But with David Haye moving up from Cruiserweight, running his mouth abit and beating up the Giant, people who aren't necessarily Boxing fans watched the fight and cheered him on for the sake of the spectacle and the event. And now David defended his World title against tough, but faded, John Ruiz, what next?

Before he even had his first Heavyweight fight Haye had been trash talking the Klitschko brothers, 2 Ukrainian Boxers that had been dominating this underskilled Heavyweight Division for years. Their talent can't be denied, but their boring styles, perceived lack of Charisma and the fact they are not American stopped them from becoming stars outside of Europe...

Hayes talk and antics really got to the Brothers and the younger of the 2, Wladimir Klitschko, had a fight contract signed with Haye for 20th June 2009, but David pulled out with an Injury he got in training camp(back or hand injury, reports were dodgey). After that David recovered from his "injury" and was planing a fight with older brother Vitali Klitschko, but negotiations fell through as the Haye camp just lost interest in the fight for unknown reasons...

Since then the Klitschko's just carried on doing their thing, beating their mandatory oppenents, and David beat Valuev becoming a world champ and defended againt Ruiz. Yesterday this video was posted on the offical Klitschko Website...(only 30secs)

This could be the biggest thing to happen in Heavyweight Boxing(and there by Boxing)for Decades. Watch out for this fight! you prolly won't be able to miss it.

Whos got DA:O, how you finding it, what class/race are you playing(if you've settled on one yet...i haven't )?

So far i've tried a Human mage and Human Rogue properly, but played the background of a few more. Barely started rly, 7th lvl.

You have probably heard about the game Blood Bowl, and that a PC version of the table top game has been made. Its download only atm for ?39.99, playable online with patches being released. There are 8 playable races atm Human, Dwarf, Orc, Lizardmen, Wood Elves, Chaos, Skaven and Goblins. Dunno if its been confirmed, but i imagine more will be implemented through patches, there are atleast 16 races in the latest table top rules.

The graphics are pretty nice, not very interactive(just knocking someone down with a punch would be the some animation if you killed them) but are very smooth, acrobatics when dodging and scooping up the ball when running through etc.

The gameplay/rules are exactly the same as the table top game when playing a match, but there is alot more pre-match amble with this game. You can give 1 player in your team some extra training, its like a double click mini game where you've got to let the bar fill up full as you can without it hitting the end, the closer to the top, the more % chance the stat will increase for that next match. pick a Stat(Movement, Strength, Agility or Armour) choose how violent and intense you want to train that player, the harder settings will move the bar quicker.

You can also spend some gold out of your treasurery on various "inducements" to give you an edge in the match, anything from Magical Potions to a slipped bribe to the Ref. And if you've taken a paticular beating in previous games, you'll be getting some of these goodies for "free", you'll get the difference in team costs in gold to spend on inducments.

There is a definate element of comedy spliced into the game, with the comments for the AI player if you player vs the computer, and the match commentators being have the odd funny joke, but like with most games, you'd have heard them all after 3 or 4 matches. Also all the different types of players within a race have different"jigs" they dance if they score a touchdown, i recently managed to score with a Troll, he scratchs his head and looks around abit, not really sure at whats hes done

This game was once annoucned to be realsed in the 1st quater of 2008, but all the delays to now seem to have been worth it so far, the game is very well put together, no bugs, no crashes and with the posibilty of new patches it can only get better(hopefully). If you have played BB before and liked it you'll like this for sure.

24-year-old burglar Gregory McCalium beaten by 'victim' - 72-year-old retired boxer



Gregory McCalium got more than he bargained for when he broke into retired boxer Frank Corti's home last August.

He should have picked on someone his own age.

Gregory McCalium, 24, was left with severe facial wounds after the knife-wielding thug attempted to rob his elderly neighbor in tBotley near Oxford, England, Britain's SkyNews reported. The would-be burglar broke into the home of Frank Corti last Aug. 19 - without realizing the 72-year-old was a retired boxer.

A mug shot released by the Thames Valley Police reveals the results after Corti disarmed his attacker, let loose with two punches to the face and restrained McCalium until the police arrived on the scene.

On Tuesday, McCalium was sentenced to a 4 1/2-year sentence for the crime.

"'I was scared when he first threw the knife, but most people would have acted in the same way," Corti told London's Daily Mail. "If you can't defend what's yours, where are we at?"

Corti, a veteran of the British armed forces, was at home with his wife during the mid-morning attack, according to testimony in the case. McCalium, a bartender, may have held a grudge over a noise complaint lodged by the Cortis earlier that morning, the Daily Mail reported.

"The jury might well have concluded you got what you deserved," prosecutor Angela Morris said to McCalium during sentencing, according to the Daily Mail.
