Title: X-Box360 Kinect

Hello All

Has anyone got an X-Box360 Kinect - if so is it as good as the reviews say?

I played one at Christmas with the family and it was great fun, the sports game was really good and got everyone playing/involved. I find these things are boring on my own though, really needs a small crowd to get the most fun !

I don't have an xbox myself though, got a ps3 - it's version of this is supposed to be better than Kinnect (according to reviews) but the PS3 doesn't really have any good games yet. Though some decent ones are in the works I think.

Cool - I've already got an X-Box and for Xmas I was given some vouchers for HMV but I rarely bother buying anything in there as generally its cheaper on sites like Amazon and Play so I thought it might be an option

How does Kinect compare to Wii, is it next generation? The Wii remote was innovative when launched but is now rather clumsy. Wii has poor accuracy for navigating menus or trying to control a target for shooting, so it limits the sophisticatin of games. Are Kinect games a bit more advanced than the simplistic stuff for Wii?

I've also got a Wii and always enjoy giving it a go but I like the fact that the Kinect incorporates the whole of your body and not just what your arms are doing so things like football style games are possible but I don't know how sensitive it is as something on the Wii it struggles to pick up your movements especially in fast moving games like boxing where most of the punches just don't work

Its deffo better than the wii and navigating menus was pretty easy. You can also talk to it and give it commands, though that didn't work quite so well imo :)

As per my post before the ps3 is supposed to be the best as it has both the motion caputre and a controller, so it's the most accurate. Though the games suck money balls right now cos they rushed it out :)

As I've already got an X-Box I might as well give the Kincet a bash - I suspect that the cost of a PS3 and various attachements would be grounds for divorce!

yup, and wasn't suggesting you should. If you have an xbox already I'd deffo get kinnect :)
